My Favorite Albums of 2008: #3
Mount Eerie: Lost Wisdom / Black Wooden Ceiling Opening / Dawn I’m counting these three albums as one because they sound so completely intertwined. Also, I saw Mount Eerie play live this fall and they played songs from all three albums in a way that sounded as if they were written in the same state of mind. The whole concert was incredibly hushed and event reverent. Phil Elvrum told...

My Favorite Albums of 2008: #4
The Cool Kids: Bake Sale EP The Cool Kids make some of the most infectious beats this year. They buck the current Kanye West-inspired trend (backed up by the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, and others) of constantly swelling strings and overblown production. My Favorite Albums of 2008: #5

My Favorite Albums of 2008: Honorable Mention
King Khan and the Shrines: The Supreme Genius of King Khan and the Shrines I realize this is a singles collection, not a new album but, whatever. It was a record released in 2008, so it counts. Some magazine referred to this as the perfect soundtrack to...

For some reason...
… I’m feeling a little weird right now. I was so busy with school that now I feel weird for not having something to do every second of the day. If feels good to be able to go to the mall and eat Sbarro with Ashley, but… I don’t know. It’s like I have a vague sense in the back of my mind that there’s something I should be doing. Whatever. I have work...

Finally Done
I finally finished all my finals. Here’s hoping I did ok, or at least that everyone else did worse. At least it’s over for now, and all I have to do is chill out and apply for jobs for summer. The good part is I’m finally able to spend some time with my wife. We went to Olive Garden tonight. I had the chicken marsala. Anyways, come talk to me soon, friends I haven’t seen...
